Widen your reach with eBay

Christmas on the Christian Calendar means that buyers want and totally expect a deal.

 

In fact, a lot of buyers in the lead up to Christmas say that almost all of what they buy is as a result of a Sales Promotional Event or with a Money Off Voucher.

 

If you want to sell books during this period, creating a great deal is essential!

 

There are about 165 MILLION shops on eBay.  This huge number may put some sellers off, as it might seem too big a challenge to get seen, to promote, or to secure sales.  But there is a way!  Follow some of these tips and you may just be able to highlight your store above all others.

 

Create a store that showcases not just books, but gifts for writers too.  This helps you not only sell, say, stock that isn't selling - but also helps you promote your new authors too.  Plus you can sell tickets for author, reading, promotional events as well.

 

Book sellers can use it to drive sales to their online (and offline) stores, to stay competitive and increase value.

 

The good thing about it is that it is free for subscribers.  When you build a promotion what it comes down to are three things:

  1. the promotion type

  2. the product selection, and

  3. the timing

 

ONE:  Promotion type

Catch the shopper’s attention with discounts on orders, shipping, tickets for events at your store.  You can promote to your special customers, family and friends via ‘codeless codes’ but there a host of other methods to help you build a promotional platform to catch new customers with the variety of books you sell.

 

During peak periods, such as this Christmas time, you can run various book promotions at the same time.  Don't wish to teach you to suck eggs, but you’ve probably heard BOGOF (Buy One Get One Free); Save 10% when you buy 5 or more; Save £10 when you spend £20.  And these offers can be applied through the eBay store.

 

TWO: Book Selection

Choose books that work well together. If you’re promoting a spiritual book, either act as an ‘affiliate’ for another shop or supply the product yourself, and pair the book up with a discount a piece of jewelry (like a ‘dream catcher’ or incense sticks).  Or if you are aiming at the writer, then promote the kinds of products a writer needs - like pens, pencils, cases to put these valuable items in and pretty notebooks.  This is the kind of thing that helps increase value and sales.

 

THREE: Timing Is All

Christmas is only two weeks away, so if you are stuck for time to do it before Christmas, think about New Year sales. This is an excellent way to get rid of old stock from your shelves.
