Have you ever used the Awareness Days as an incentive for book store events?
By using the Awareness Days, you can bring people into your stores by linking up for promotions with organisations and charities. Usually these awareness days are implemented to promote health and good causes, but some have comical elements attached to them (Comic Relief, to name one). Look them up and see how you can get involved.
January, a whole month, is devoted to ‘Love Your Liver’. Were you able to get involved in that last year? If not, it's not too late to start thinking about it for this year. If you did, were your sales or customer visits increased? Let us know your thoughts.
Take a look at the list of awareness days on Wikipedia and see if you might be able to get your book store and authors involved in linking up with celebrities and campaigns. Or even look at the official Awareness Days website.
