Write for the BB+ Newsletter
Our primary goal is to provide our readers with high quality, well researched articles about books - writing and selling. We would be delighted to help you share your investigations with our audience.
What kind of articles do we publish?
We publish articles written by people with an interest in books, writing, publishing and promoting. Most of our written content is long form and well referenced.
What do we need?
The first step is to send us a brief outline of what you want to write about. When we give you the go-ahead to write your article, we ask that:
The article is an original piece of work for BewleyBooks, and not something you have published elsewhere.
Link back to primary sources wherever possible
Work with our editorial team - and a willingness to accept constructive criticism
You promote your article on social media
Subscribe for at least THREE months before submitting an article idea
What do we offer?
Creating great articles is a two way process:
We will help you create an interesting article relevant to BB+ aims 'Aspire to Inspire'
We will source a suitable main image for general articles
You will need to submit photographs of yourself and your book
You will have a by-line with your photograph and brief (50 word max) biography
We will promote your article to our subscribers, email newsletters, and on social media
Sending an outline
We suggest you submit an outline/pitch for your article idea before you spend a lot of time writing. This is so that we can make sure your idea is a good fit for BB+. Your pitch should be as concise as possible while giving enough detail for us to understand the subject and your take on it - don’t worry about a headline at this stage. To submit your article outline/ideas, use the form on our Contact page.
Submitting your draft
Once you get the go-ahead to write your article, we will be there to help you every step of the way. We will agree a deadline and we would prefer you submit your article in a MSWord doc rather than in the body of an email. Once submitted, any suggestions for changes will be sent to you. We will normally make smaller changes without consultation to deal with spelling or other typographical errors.
Images (photographs and illustrations)
We cannot accept any images for publication which are subject to third party copyright. You are welcome to use your own photographs of books and yourself in your articles, and copyright information will be clearly displayed. We normally source images from online image libraries.
Once the editing process is complete and we have agreed your article is ready for publication, we will confirm the date of publication. We would encourage you to join us in sharing your article as widely as possible on social media. We look forward to hearing from you!
